The Cakery Named Missouri’s Best Cake Shop
The Dogtown-based bakery was recently recognized in national list from MSN.com
(JUNE 2, 2021 — St. Louis) MSN.com has named The Cakery as Missouri’s Best Cake Shop in a recent nationwide roundup of sweets shops offering cakes for every occasion.
The cheerful bakery located at 1420 Tamm Ave. in St. Louis’ Dogtown neighborhood focuses on special occasion cakes (each frosted with the Cakery’s original buttercream), plus cookies and cupcakes.
MSN.com highlights The Cakery staff’s ability to create beautiful custom cakes, while also noting that “its selection of ready-to-go cakes are really standout and perfect when you need something sweet at the last minute.”
“I’ve been decorating cakes ever since I was a teenager, and it has been such fun getting to share my love for baking with St. Louis dessert lovers over the past 16 years,” owner Ericka Frank says. “It’s a great honor for our shop to receive this national recognition, and I hope people will keep us in mind for their next big event.”

Marketing Our Bakery in 2021
The Cakery Bakery has made a name for itself with its array of delightful baked goods. Now that name is making its way into 2021 by providing a selection of its services and its baked goods to the online community. Bakeries everywhere have sought to make their goods accessible to everyone, but marketing in 2021 now includes a bigger assortment of quality products alongside ease of ordering. With so many restrictions during COVID forcing companies to turn toward delivery and curbside pickup, it is great to hear that more selections are still being offered online.
Cakery Bakery Selections
Those familiar with the best bakery in St. Louis know about their range of wedding baked goods, cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. The cakes are made to be flavorful and moist, featuring frosting made with an original and proprietary buttercream recipe. The decorations are done with precision so that each cake is unique. The style of these cakes is fanciful, perfect for birthday parties all the way through anniversaries. Orders can be taken weeks in advance. Cookies, too, are sumptuous cookies, all made from scratch with a sugar cookie recipe that uses the best extracts and ingredients. The cookies are cut by hand and also decorated with the signature buttercream frosting that makes them melt in the mouth. There is a selection of designs made available with the option of finding a theme or occasion appropriate for your upcoming event. Similarly the cupcakes are made to fit whatever the event is, whether it is a single serving dessert earned after a hard work out, a wedding, or a birthday. They are made in any of the cake flavors you want and given whatever icing color you prefer. Each cupcake boasts the same homemade buttercream frosting, decorated by hand.
Missouri's Best Cake Shop Goes Online
The "best cake shop in Missouri" is now offering options to:
- Browse the collection of cakes online
- View customer reviews and most importantly
- Order and deliver products from a mobile device
This helps customers everywhere get the cakes they need, when they need them. For example: Some customers remember an upcoming birthday for a friend or family member but they remember at random, a few weeks before the actual date. Then they tell themselves that they must not forget that upcoming date. They plan to get a cake, but of course, they have to go to the physical bakery on the date in question to buy a premade cake or arrange for the cake one or two days before and then go and pick it up. Lo and behold, the date comes and goes and the person kicks themselves for forgetting and for not getting a cake. But with the new mobile marketing options from Cakery Bakery, when that moment of recall arrives, an online order can be placed for the birthday cake long ahead of time, scheduled to be made at the right date and delivered on time.
Want to deliver the baked goods yourself? Arrange for a selection of cupcakes for a kids party or a few dozen cookies for a church event to be made available for pickup. This option, too, enables you to capitalize on the new online ordering system but arrange to pick up the goods when you need them. For example: A woman gets asked to bring baked goods to a community event. She makes a mental note but forgets to write it down. Then an email comes the week of the event from a friend who notes that they are “excited to try whatever dessert” she brings. This reminds the woman that she doesn’t have anything prepared, nor does she have time. But she does have online ordering with the Cakery Bakery where, with a mobile device, she can order the goods for the community event and pick them up directly on her way.
As part of the new online marketing, customers can also select for curbside pickup so that they don’t even need to get out of their car. They just place an order online, weeks in advance, show up on the right day, and have the goods delivered right to their vehicle. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the best of the baked good world without having to disrupt daily life. It also makes it easier to run errands with a car full of children, when you cannot necessarily get out of the car and leave the sleeping babies, but don't want to wake them.

We have reached our capacity for orders this week and are temporarily suspending retail operations until further notice. Only previously placed, pre-paid orders will be filled. As difficult as this decision was, we must do our part in helping people stay home and not come into contact with each other unless absolutely necessary.
We love what we do and we love serving you…but we also must be responsible citizens of this world in this unprecedented time. We will be continually monitoring the situation and look forward to offering you “everything Cakery” and celebrating with you when it is safe to do so! #wewillgetthroughthis

If you are truly looking for ways to go all in to celebrate a very special upcoming anniversary or birthday for someone dear to you, a themed cake with their favorite theme on it would be an excellent idea. Why? Needless to say, everyone loves a good cake on their birthday, no matter if it has any special decorations on it or not. Now multiply the joy of receiving a simple, yet delicious cake with one of being gifted a genuine masterpiece in terms of frosting and decorations a few times and you should understand just why a themed cake would make for the best gift idea.
Choose The Best Theme For The Cake
Choosing the best design and theme for the cake might, however, be easier said than done at times, especially if you have never baked and decorated a cake from scratch before and you are not very familiar with the birthday boy's or girl's interest or hobbies.
A more general birthday theme with balloons and gift boxes might just do the trick here. We believe it would be a good idea to rely on our professional team of bakers and allow us to show you why our moist, delicious cakes rich in flavor are the best in town. We only use our own buttercream recipe for frosting and our precision decorating skills are unparalleled. Just make sure you get in touch with us a few weeks prior to the event so we can accommodate your exact requests right on time and recommend some top themed cake ideas to you, if you are lacking any.
Choose The Coolest Slot Machine Cake
Casino-themed cakes are always spectacular to look at and capture on your camera roll for posterity, not to mention how extra Instagrammable they are and how many Facebook likes they are prone to gather. For someone with a passion for games in general or gambling in particular, a video game with their favorite character on it or a cake with their preferred casino game as the main decoration would definitely create that element of “wow” and surprise that you are aiming for.
We specialize in delivering the freshest, fanciest, and tastiest cakes for all types of anniversaries and events and can deliver an extravagant slot-themed cake for your spouse who has recently won a whopping casino jackpot or scooped up a cool poker win in a flash. We can bake and decorate the coolest cake shaped like a classic one-armed bandit machine, with all the 777 or cherry symbols on it down, designed and baked down to the smallest details. If your spouse, sibling, father, or good friend is a big fan of no deposit bonuses and all things gambling-related in general, they are also going to appreciate your thoughtful gift.
After all, cakes are the centrepiece of any party or celebration and they could turn any event into an even more spectacular one, especially if they are bespoke and feature an eye-catching slot or casino theme. Need more design ideas?
You could go on Pinterest for more inspiration or use your own ideas and personal experience and design the most unique, realistic or comic themed cake possible – the choice is yours. We are here ready to accurately recreate the slot machine screen, the reels, the lines, the spin and bet buttons, and the special symbols on the screen, using chocolate icing, ganache, or fondant. Our experts will closely follow all the precise measurements to make sure that the sweet and tasty slot machine-themed cake will look flawless and incredibly realistic.
We could take things one step further and actually recreate a winning game of slots displaying a million-dollar jackpot on it, or we could bake a themed cake displaying a symbol combination that is just one symbol shy from being a winner if you are looking for an even more spectacular design.
Our experienced bakers also bake some cupcakes featuring Aces, Spaces, dice, small roulette wheels, or any other casino symbol or representation on them. Just let us know what you would like to prepare for the upcoming anniversary that you are getting ready for and we will be glad to come to your assistance with an unforgettable cake that everyone will remember for a long time.
¿What you know about Cakes?

Who doesn't love a good old celebration?, birthdays, weddings, graduations, quinceañeras, we humans love to celebrate and no celebration is complete without some delicious cake, that sweet, spongy, frosting covered marvel of cooking science that both children and adults alike go crazy about. Ranging from simple ones without too many embelishments, to far more majestic and incredible ones, cakes are a must in all celebrations. Today dear readers, let's take a moment to learn more about this delicious companion to celebrations, the more traditional recipes, and a little bit of history of our sweet frosty friend.
Cakes?
Although a daily sight nowadays, the most common ones being birthday cakes, they are actually much older than we think, dating back to the Middles Ages. The first birthday cake is believed to have been made in Germany, yet a totally different version of what today's cakes are, being, coarse and bread-like, thanks God we live in the 21st century right?
There is an almost infinite supply of recipes for cake making, ranging from the traditional egg, milk, butter, sugar one, to recipes that even use bacon or chili, wedding cakes, graduation cakes and at the beginning we must follow step by step the rules written on the recipe, we don't want to end up with a dessert that's tood hard to chew on, or so sweet that makes out teeth hurt.
All things balanced, as they should be
After all we've said, you must be raring to go prepare your own original cake mix, yet remember that everything in this world has a beginning, stick to the basics and then evolve your technique. Too little sugar will make the cake bland, too much and it may be too sweet for most, too much butter will make it greasy, too little will make it dry, too much flour will make it hard to chew, and too little will end in a limbo between liquid and solid. You must learn what the basic measures for each ingredient on a cake are, and then by trial and error eventually develop your own unique style, always taking into account that everything needs to be in the right amount.
Improving the balance
Now that you have your very own cake recipe, it's time to evolve Pokemon-style! We must always strive for improvement, and one surefire way of improving is listening to feedback. Be it clients, friends or family, feeback from those that taste your dish is essential in the process of evolving your technique and recipe. Ask for opinios on the taste, texture, sweetness, moisture, every little detail counts, check your recipe and technique and improve upon it by applying the necesary corrections.
Another way of improving is taking notes from the best, both in flavor, technique and presentation. A delicious cake will always make people happy, but a delicious and amazingly decorated or presented cake will please both the tongues and eyes of those present. Learn to make art on your cakes, many different designs exist on internet, dinosaur cakes, blackjack cakes, Game of Thrones cakes, the list goes on and on, there's no shortage of ideas, put your abilities to the test and become a Picasso of pastry.
New balance
As technology evolves, so does the way we prepare food and desserts, and currently there's a branch of science bent on developing new and better ways to cook and prepare food. Molecular gastronomy is the name of the cooking movement that studies the way in which different factors affect food properties, it's taste, texture, and more are the focal point of this study. This new scientific approach to cooking is slowly but steadily yielding fascinating results, such as the spehrification of juices and other liquids. Going back to cakeland, this could eventually mean that cake recipes and cooking methods will evolve, paving the way to new flavors and styles that may change the face of cooking and pastries forever, with more extravagant flavors, and the most beautiful cake designs becoming possible day by day.
Closing the oven
Cakes are a tradition that has passed the test of time, and much like us humans, they have evolved from being a bland bread substitute, to a veritable form of art, with bakers from all over the world creating new pieces for those that want and can afford them. Programs such as "Cake Boss", give us a taste of what this dessert based artists are capable of creating, and scientific advances in the field of cooking are allowing new, more efficient and creative ways of presenting and preparing dishes. With bakers being capable of creating almost anything they can imagine on their cakes, it is really easy to wonder what will the future bring. A piece of cake to the future of cooking and desserts.
